Dentist - Teeth Grinding

This week I got a cold while jogging (exercising) in the rain. I was also having some teeth discomfort during the same time. I called the Dentist and took me the same day. The receptionist Edith who is also a Medical person asked if I grinding my teeth? I said actually yes I've know noticed that I have during the time I was practicing...I was working on a difficult piece called "Peacherine Rag". She mention I needed to use a Night Guard that people who grind their teeth during the day will also grind at night. So I was very RELIEVED that probably the reason for my teeth hurting was this not more TOOTH DECAY!!

Earlier this year I did have a root canal, and since then I have been brush and flossing every day... in the same way George Bush started reading the Bible everyday since he became President. So anyway I was very surprised I was having discomfort with my teeth. I went to CVS Pharmacy and looked at their Night Guards for Teeth Grinders. They all looked fairly big like a Football Mouth Guard. I got the smallest one that said you can put them into hot water and then apply them to make an impression in your teeth. I was a bit nervous after plunging my upper teeth into the hot rubber substance. I thought it might tear out my fillings and pulled it out!

Later after making it, I spent an hour driving to the Dentist and show them. They explained that this was too big bulky and would fall out, and that they could make me a more comfortable one for $150 dollars. I agreed and they took my teeth impressions. I really hope that this is all it is "Teeth Grinding" because I hate the thought of having another root canal after being such a good brusher.

Chocolate!!

When I get tired around 3:30 after lunch I want to take a nap or get coffee, instead I turn to candy! The sugar gets my heart start pumping and I really ready for some more work! This is what worked as a kid so why not now!

Not a Snickers Bar or anything large but flat thin pieces or dark chocolate. They are about the size of a half dollar. Just got to remember to brush extra good today!

Eye Palpitatations

Today I was having palpitations in eye. This is indicating that I am too stressed out over having the trees cut back with a crew of half a dozen people. Pay them and don't get involved. Let your neighbor's know they are cutting them back enough so the area of my house is not a fire hazard when they come by.

Trying to tackle the rest of "Peacherine Rag" all in one day before meeting with the teacher is too much, go relax. Give yourself more room to work on it.

I was also having arm severe palpitations in my left arm when I went to get a Business License in Santa Monica.

Good Nutrition

"The hardest part, is the very first step, because once you start with that very first step the second one come easier." - Dr. OZ

This year has been big for me changing into living a healthier life. I was over weight earlier this year and have been taking action to reduce my weight.

Changes I've made:
  • 1) Walk three miles everyday
  • 2) Log all food going in and their Calories.

These two things have made me more aware what I eat and loose weight and feel a lot better. There is a new Application for the iPhone and iPad called "LOOSE IT" which allows you to log all your "FOOD" and "EXERCISE". It tells your the calories you "Gained" calories you've "Burned".

Those good changes lead me to:
  • 3) Getting to bed earlier and getting up earlier.
  • 4) Brushing my teeth after every meal, floss and use mouthwash.
  • 5) Read the ingredient on labels of the food I buy.
And though it hasn't been easy I do feel I am making slow progress, but I need to keep at it and this blog will help to keep me actively pursuing my over all health.
